You make an appointment to see a particular Masseuse and they try to get you to see another when you get there, not very good service if you ask me.

WENT IN FOR THE BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT BEFORE MY WEDDING IN JANUARY. THIS COULD BE A GREAT SALON BUT AS THE TITLE SAYS , "NEEDS WORK". THE STYLIST STEPHANIE WAS TRYING TO RUSH THROUGH THIS PROCESS AND FOR $250 I BOUGHT MY TIME AND THEN SOME. FIRST THE FLAT IRON PLUG KEPT FALLING OUT OF THE OUTLET, WHICH IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE THE IRON IS SUPPOSED TO MAINTAIN A CONSTANT TEMP OF 450 DEGREES. THE STYLIST WAS UNCONCERNED AND WOULD PLUG IRON BACK IN AND USE IT RIGHT AWAY WITHOUT WAITING FOR IT TO HEAT UP (AGAIN THE RUSH). NOW HERE IS THE WORST PART. IN ORDER FOR ME TO "SEE" THE RESULTS I WAS TO LEAVE THE SALON WITH MY HAIR FINGER DRIED. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT ONE????? WHEN I PROTESTED SHE RELUCTANTLY STYLED A COUPLE OF SECTIONS SINCE HER NEXT CLIENT HADNT ARRIVED YET. WOW WHAT AN HONOR!!!!!!!! LET ME SAY I WAS 10MIN EARLY FOR THE APPT. SO I DONT UNDERSTAND THE RUSH JOB. THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO CUT DOWN THE TIME THIS PROCESS TAKES SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE MONEY MOVING ON TO THE NEXT CLIENT. VERY SAD, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

What a horrible experience! The colorist Steven Cook ruined my hair! (3 colors one on top of the other!!) and instead of not charging me for correcting the service with another colorist they told me I had to pay since I had it done with a different person. I strongly recommend not to go to Aniko, it might look good from the outside but that’s about it!

I am relatively new to Chicago, and I went to Aniko because of the positive reviews online, and because I wanted to find a good spa, even if it was not in Hyde Park, where I live. So I looked for places in the South Loop. I went in this past week for the first time, for a brow shaping and a facial with Cosmina, and I had a great experience. Aniko is elegant, and the people are very friendly. I had the enzyme peel facial, and since I have the kind of skin that can be problematic (and requires some extractions), I really appreciated that Cosmina was both so gentle and thorough with my skin. And the face, neck and arm massage were relaxing, and I felt like she really took the time to take care of every little detail on my face. I left the spa feeling terrific (even my boyfriend noticed that on the phone afterwards :-), and I love the way my skin looks now!! I will definitely be back, and I am so glad to have found a really good place in Chicago - it reminds me of the salon I used to go to in LA.

I had not had a hair cut here before, but was coming in for just a bang trim with Gabrielle as I was not yet ready for a full haircut. when I arrived, Gabrielle was running late so could not see me for another 30 min. This I understand. Delays can happen. However, as she was with her client only several feet away from me, it would have been courteous and professional for her to briefly greet me and apologize herself for the delay. She didn't. But Steven was nice enough to fit me in even though he was ready to go on break. Although he had not met me before, he was very courteous and professional, and did a careful and very good job on my bangs ( and a good bang trim can make a huge difference between cuts!) I really appreciated this. When I return I will see Steven for my hair cut and color. He has gotten very good reviews as a hair stylist, but professionalism, warmth and courtesy matter quite a bit to me as well.

Aniko Salon and Spa is a fantastic experience, no matter the service - and I've sampled several! Most remarkable, though, is the expereince I've had working with Steven Cook - one of the salon's very talented stylists. Steven takes the time to listen to listen to a customer... what they like and what they're looking for in their hair. He immediately puts a new client at ease - both in his willingness to dedicate as much time as necessary to achieve the perfect look, as well as with his warmth and consideration! The first time I went to Steven, my hair was a disaster. It was was an over processed, sorely neglected, pile of straw on my head. After just one visit, my hair transformed! Because of Steven's high level of expertise for various product lines, he recommended the perfect combination for my hair length and texture; paving the way for my hair to evolve into silken, beautiful tresses. When I got married, Steven came in on his day off, before the salon even opened, just to do my hair for the ceremony! For our reception, two months later, Steven was diligent in trading pictures and ideas via email, to help me determine exactly what I was looking for on the day of the event. He is ruly an artist and surpassed all of my expectations with his creativity and attention to detail. His masterpiece was adored by all, and left me feeling super glamorous on the night most girls dream of their whole lives! If you're looking for a stylist to give you a new take on your hair, Steven is your go-to man. He is single handedly the most talented stylist I've worked with. Beyond that, he is a kind, thoughtful, creative person, who treats every client like a celebrity, and every hair service as a canvas for his art. Steven Cook is the best stylist in Chicago!

I have had two wonderful massages at Aniko Salon and Spa. I found both massage experiences to be completely positive--relaxing, rejuvinating and calming. My body definitely left the salon in a healthier position each time. I thought that the salon and spa had a positive and professional atmosphere. I was very pleased with the level of service and care. I recommend Aniko Salon and Spa!!!

The best spa experience in the city. Friendly, warm, and supporting. Not only they have great services they support local designers hosting monthly events. Love Aniko Spa!!

Love the vibe at this salon. It is so beautifully decorated. It has a water feature and a Moroccan inspired relaxing area. Had a great massage by Silvia, brow waxing by Blair, pedicure by Billy, nails by Nicole, hair by Stephanie. Am working my way through the menu. Cheryl at the front desk coordinates it all. A high point for me is the monthly Martinis and Manicure Monday nights. Such a great way to pamper yourself. We all need to take a little time for ourselves. I feel really at home there.

I am a NY transplant who was faithful to my colorist for 4 years while trying to grow out my locks for my book launch and then my wedding. When I moved to Chicago almost a month ago, I decided to get settled into my new city and find a colorist here. After making a huge mistake and going to "top" salon, Michael &Michael, my healthy long locks were fried to a crisp and the ends looked like fur. I was devistated and fearful that 4 years of growth would be lopped off in a moment's time. I spent 8 days and visited and called 12 salons before finding Aniko, and let me tell you, looking back, I realize it was all for a reason. The moment I stepped into Aniko, I felt calm. The staff is so nice (and they all have amazing hair!) They are friendly, accomodating and talented. I sat down with Gabrielle and she spent twenty minutes with me, listening to my concerns, empathizing with my circumstances and directly telling me what could and could not be done (though what she said was a positive, her honesty was something I appreciated and made me comfortable with her. Is there anything worse than someone who smiles and says "Yes...OK" a million times and then proceeds to give you a cut or color that looks horrible on you, even if it is one you think would look great?) When she started to work on my hair, she went through every step of the process with me, letting me know what she was doing, what she was using and making sure that it was OK. The end result? She gave me the best haircut I have had in a decade, saved my hair and helped me keep my hair long when every-other-stylist told me it was impossible. My fiancee was amazed when he saw it and said, "It looks so good and you cannot even tell it was cut in terms of length". Gabrielle was so refreshing and such a pleasure to sit and talk with and I felt so safe and comfortable in her chair. After such a horribly stressful month and feeling like the colorist who butchered my hair didn't care, she was very much a breath of fresh air. I have found the only person who will touch my hair for as long as I am in Chicago and encourage every person out there (especially those who care about length or who want to go to someone who will be 100% honest with them about what can-and cannot-be done) to see Gabrielle. You will love your hair and you will find her to be lovely. This salon is a hidden gem and should be rated number one. It's so nice not to feel as though you're being taken for a ride or that your happiness with your hair doesn't matter (which is something I have felt in many of the salons I have visited here in Chicago). I cannot wait to try their spa treatments and to have Gabrielle color my hair. I almost want to send a thank you card to M&M for their horrible job because it directed me to a fabulous new cut, salon and person).

I actually followed Kasia from a previous salon because she is that good. I get maincures, pedicures, waxing and facials from her and the experiences are consistenly pleasant. Not only is she good at what she does but she is also fun to talk to and offers great beauty advice.

High end decor with anincredible changing room. Gorgeous bathrooms/showers. This ultra terrific spa was recommened by a girlfriend in Arizona as I was attending a Chicago wedding. That day I had a luxurious massage from Barbara, great hair from Lauren and Billy applies makeup movie star fashion. Thanks for a great day!!!

I received a massage from Candice, and it was the best one ever!!! I have back problems and she is the first massage therapist EVER who hasn't hurt me during my massage. Place is extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was great as well. I recommend everyone to go get a massage from Candice. You won't be disappointed!!!!

I know that I am the owner of Aniko but I had to write a review because this was the first time I had a massage with Candace and it truly was amazing. I don't like deep tissue and was having back and shoulder problems and was stressed about my upcoming wedding and she cured me! Her technique was awesome, her professionalism was great and I was overall very pleased with my service. One of the best massages I have ever gotten and trust me I have gotten a lot. Try her out you won't regret it.

I've been going to Aniko for about 2 years now. I get everything done there from my Hair, Mani/Pedi's, waxing, facials and massages. Stephanie, Cosmina, Laura and Cheryl are my favorites. There is hardly a week that goes by that I'm not in there for something. I highly reccomend Aniko!

Had a lovely manicure...and was delighted to find out that there are no formaldehyde polishes available!

I went to Aniko Salon for the first time in Aug. 2008 and have been going ever since. Steven is a hair healer! A true hair artist who enjoys his work. I will go old school and say he is a wonderful "hair dresser". He really does it all; styles, colors and gives a great hair cut. His easy going personality is very welcoming. I find it to be a spiritual experience when Steven does my hair...from the wonderful shampoo massage to the finishing styling touches. I always feel renewed, transformed. I feel lighter, relaxed and happier. I'm blessed to have found Steven, my, hair dresser.

I have been coming to see Billy for years no matter where she is. She performs great work on my wild, uncontrollable brows and my dry, party nails/hands. She always performs miracles and I appreciate that extra attention and how she makes sure I am really comfortable. She is also a cheerer-upper with a humor to make you feel better when you leave to continue your day or night. Billy is GREAT!!!

You know how you go to the fast fixers when you needs your nails and toes done well that is what I do on occasions but recently I went to Aniko Salon on Wabash and oh boy I was in heaven. Billy is great and the polish lasted for much longer than I expected it to. She was very cheerful and accomidating for my needs. She actually went out her way to please me and didn't rush at doing the job so she could get to another customer. I will be going back again and again because my Toes need to look good even if it is winter. Aniko also has so much more to offer that my girls and I are trying to plan our next spa day there. Trust me if you want your toes and fingers to look good see Billy at Aniko.

I just treated my wife to Aniko for her birthday and she LOVED IT!!! She received the Platinum Day at the SPA package complete with a hot stone massage. The service was professional from first contact to parting gifts. Megan (front desk representative) was knowledgeable, friendly and detail oriented. If you?re lucky enough to get her you will be in good hands indeed. The entire staff was excellent, non-harassing and accommodating. They didn?t try to force additional services on my wife; they just let her enjoy the package she purchases. The lunch and wine was excellent! When I picked her up she was in an excellent mood and looking forward to the next time!

After moving 1800 miles away from my former hairstylist (who I was terribly loyal to) and letting my hair get to a horrifically unmanageable state because of my stubborn refusal to visit anyone else, I realized it was time for a cut. I looked up reviews on salons all over the city, but after realizing I couldn't possibly read reviews on every single salon I decided to go to Aniko, since I live in the condos right above it. I called on a Sunday and was given an appointment with Patrick the next day. After having one person cut my hair for years, and also having experienced many a horrible haircut because of my naturally curly hair before that, I was essentially a step away from curling up in the fetal position and crying at the thought of having my poor hair maimed. Enter Patrick. He took some serious time to learn about my hair, my routine and what my hair goals were. I brought along pictures of what my hair usually looks like after a cut by my old stylist. She used to cut it dry simply because I have naturally curly hair that I wear straightened, and washing, drying and flat ironing is terribly time consuming, but Patrick had no problem doing it all. He listened to what I wanted and also put his own knowledge of what would look good on me and some creative flair on it, giving me a cut that's about a hundred times better than the one I used to get. He explained what he was doing in detail at each step and why, which was hugely reassuring to me. Even when his next appointment came in, he did not rush me out of the chair at all- just told her very nicely he was running a little behind. I'm sure she got the same careful attention to detail I did when her turn came! I'll be going back without a doubt- I've found my new stylist. There really aren't enough characters here for me to praise the entire experience enough, but seriously, just book an appointment with Patrick at Aniko. You will not regret it.

I just got back from Aniko. I thought I would give it a try. They took me the same day that I called and booked me with Patrick. When I first stepped into the salon they were so welcoming, took my coat and offered me beverages. Patrick was so great because he listened to me and what I was saying. He got to know my personality, my daily routine and used that to create a look for me. I told him that I wanted my bangs to look like a certain reality tv stars and he looked her up on the internet and recreated that look perfectly. He also used styling techniques flow with my face shape. He also taught me how to recreate that look at home. Patrick is extremely knowledgeable and answered my burning questions about haircare so thoroughly. I am definitely going back. Totally worth every penny!!!

I found Aniko here on CItySearch after making a rather sudden decision to cut my long (mid-back) hair very short (not even touching my shoulders). Best decision I ever made. I had an appointment with Stephanie and showed her the reference pictures I had brought (of Natalie Portman, whose short bob cut I wanted to emulate). Stephanie went above and beyond what I had expected. First off, she had worked with Natalie Portman's hair before, so she recommended a few subtle changes to the cut which would make it work better with my hair (fine like Natalie's, but thicker). Once we had the strategy set, Stephanie began cutting. She was very pleasant throughout, always keeping me appraised of what she was doing. The salon was very empty (it was a weird time - 2pm on a Tuesday - but I got the feeling she would be this way no matter how busy it was. In the end, the cut was absolute perfection. She got what I wanted to a T - length and everything. She also gave me some tips for how to dry, maintain, and style my new hair. I have been to other spas and salons before, and I must say the staff and environment at Aniko stand out. They were very personable as a whole and very attentive. None of the snobbery that might be found at other places. The decor is very nice; full-length mirrors before the chairs make a real impression as you're getting your hair cut. I was also impressed because Stephanie only mentioned products twice - and she was offering things which would actually be useful to my hair, not just standard shampoo and conditioner which would be no better than what I currently use. The bottom line: Aniko is attentive, attractive, and far exceeded my (high) expectations. Stephanie listens well, cuts brilliantly, and goes above and beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend Aniko Salon.

I have gone to Christy about 4-5 times now, and she is an amazing colorist and stylist! She pays very close attention to my hair and how it reacts to certain colors and how to properly cut it according to it's thickness and length, and most importantly she LISTENS. I was just dark warm brown with some black that ended up through it due to damaged hair (this was done by another stylist NOT Christy). I wanted to go blonde, but natural looking blonde with different shades and lowlights. I absolutely LOVE the results. She took the time to do it correctly the first time, and added different colored pieces as she went along if she saw she wasn't getting what I wanted. She took her time, and made sure I left happy, which I did and still am. She even trimmed up some of my ends slightly since they look frazzled from the bleach. I have been happy EVERY TIME I have gone to Christy--so if you want a great cut and color process, call for an appointment with her. She is really sweet and clearly loves what she does!

I recently had a spa facial with Rene and truly enjoyed my experience. She addressed all my skincare concerns and explained that I needed to change my skincare routine for the winter. No one had ever explained this to me before. She was knowledgeable in the products and I left knowing more about my skin and about certain treatments I should try next time to help decrease my pigmentation problems. I also, was able to get a haircut with Stephanie, what a professional stylist. She explained why my hair was having issues as my cut was not for the length of my hair and explained why she was going to cut it the way she did to get the results I wanted. She also, told me that I needed to keep up my five to six week haircut routine to maintain my healthy hair and allow it to keep growing the way I wanted it. You can't beat finding a stylist that actually listens to what you want. I look forward to my next visit at Aniko, and would highly recommend Stephanie and Rene.

I recently came across Aniko on this website and thought I would give it a try since I live close by it. I called to make an appointment and the receptionist told me a time I could come in that night. I asked how much a men's haircut would be and she told me $40. Ironically, when it came time to pay, they told me it was actually $45. I said I thought it was $40, and she said the others charge $40 but Christy is $45. I felt misled that they knowingly scheduled me an appointment with Christy. the most expensive hair stylist, yet quoted me the cheaper stylest price. It's only $5, but to me it's the principle. Not to mention, my haircut looked horrible... so it was the cherry on top of my unpleasant experience here. After Christy G. hacked away at my hair with a razor blade.... It didn't look that bad when I left, but after a week my hair looked all frayed and uneven. I def. would NOT reccomend this place- It's WAY over-priced and there are plenty of more professional places you can go, for a cheaper price.

Myself and a couple of other people got a haircut from CRISTY GUTTIEREZ who works for Aniko and everyone agreed it was the worst ever. One of my friends even came out with a mullet which is not what he requested. They should really get better trained people if they are going to be charging those prices. What a rip off!!

This salon spa is the best I've been too. My hair has always been so difficult to manage, making me resort to the boring ponytail every day. I went here once for a haircut, and I don't think I will ever go anywhere else!! They have the most wonderful service, amazing products and hair tips, and most importantly, the end result is impressive to say the least. I have gone there 3 times now, and each time, I fall in love with Aniko even more!

I went to aniko salon weeks ago and was not satisfied at all. I had a haircut with christy and she is a sweet person but her haircut is not so great and it is nothing like what others describe. I told her what kind of haircut I wanted and that was not what I recieved also she does a horrible job at hair drying. Also the customer service is horrible the lady at checkout did not even give me the first time haircut discount. I was so happy thinking I found a place for color and cut but now I would never even try them for color.

First of all I drove into the city from the west burbs.... I heard all these great things about Aniko and the stylist Cristy--apparently every one I know has has followed her from her previous employer all the way down to the south loop! I figure it has to be worth it! Let me tell you--IT IS!!! She does amazing hair! She actually listens and gives you the style you want! It's a little pricey but to get the look your looking for...IT's SO WORTH IT!!!! On the other hand--management is so bad the women was yelling at the receptionist in front of the customers, crabby and doesn't seem to like her job! The place can do with out her!!! I RECOMMEND CRISTY TO EVERYONE AND GIVE HER FOUR STARS!!!! The manager called me twice rushing me to my appointment and one of those calls where while i was actually standing in the reception area! WHATS UP WITH THAT!!!

In this busy crazy world, it's nice to find a place to get a haircut and be pampered on a Sunday. Aniko Salon and Spa is located in a new condo building. I've met the owners and managers and everyone has been respectful and outoging. Aniko Salon and Spa also supprots the local events and community which is important. I have been going to the salon since January. I went in last week for my usual cut and treated myself to a manicure and pedicure. Patrick did a great job. He is very focused on providing the best service to his guests and is very attentive. He has over years of experience in the business and brings a level of expertise to the salon and the area that we need in the South Loop. I highly recommend Patrick to anyone who wants great service and style and to feel like they are special.

After a stressful month of long hours and relocation chores from LA to Atlanta, I had an opportunity to take a break and visit Chicago recently. In fact, my travel agenda led me to Aniko Salon & Spa where I was overdue for a new hairstyle. The 'Aniko experience' was just what the doctor ordered. This upscale salon (located in the South Loop), with it's cool comtemporary decor and ambience, is very relaxing and comfortable. The staff is quite friendly, and amazingly talented. The location is convenient since it was a short cab ride from Midway airport. From the warm greeting (Receptionist), to the amazing Alana Snowden Cut/Color service, I felt the cost was well worth it! There is a thread of excellence in this professional environment, that makes you want to come back for more. I've added this treat to my quarterly calendar, and look forward to experiencing the spa services on my next trip!

Best hair colorist in the city! She's not afraid to tell you what would look great on you. And if you come in with a picture or a specific highlight/lowlight idea, she'll do what you ask. Perfect every time!

I have gone to Aniko for nail services and spa services and they have been great! The staff is friendly and welcoming but still professional. The atmosphere is relaxing with it's cool colors and cushy seating, all the way down to heated floors in the locker/shower area. The prices are competitive to other high end spas but the service is far superior at Aniko. Having worked in "high end" hospitality for 7 years, Aniko is at the top of my list!

I started going there when it was under different ownership for eyebrow waxing. Apree is the best for waxing!! I also went in for a mani and pedi right after the new ownership came in, and I think it got better. It is so relaxing and inviting. And, it's so easy to get to that it just become addictive. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Aniko for a color and cut service. I was booked with a colorist named Ashton. I was very nervous to go to a new colorist but after meeting with him, I felt very confident in his services. I got the exact color that I wanted! He made me feel so comfortable and really gave me what I was looking for! I highly recommend anyone to go see Ashton at Aniko! It is well worth it! He is so much fun and gave a a great overall salon expierence!
